Tr3yball

Tr3yball is the world’s first designer basketball, created by Trey Howard after he realized the game itself hadn’t evolved alongside basketball culture. Blending style, inspiration, and purposeful design, Tr3yball also gives back—donating a portion of every sale to support BIPOC college students.

As a Product Designer for Tr3yball I partnered with 9B Collective to:

    • Design basketball surface graphics, patterns, and visual layouts
    • Develop brand-aligned colorways, typography, and iconography
    • Create artwork for panels, seams, and texture zones
    • Translate cultural influences and storytelling into graphic concepts
    • Produce vector files and production-ready artwork
    • Collaborate with product, manufacturing, and marketing teams

Colorway

For me, the colorway of a basketball is more than just its appearance, it’s a way to define identity and express style. I use color to convey Tr3yball's spirit, cultural influence, and personal flair, while also making the ball easier to see and track on different courts and lighting conditions.

Brand Guides

Tr3yball's brand guides establishes a clear visual and verbal system to ensure consistency across every touchpoint, from logos and typography to color, imagery, and product presentation. They capture the essence of Tr3yball’s mission, to bring innovation, style, and local craftsmanship to the court, while giving designers, partners, and collaborators practical tools to apply the brand consistently, boldly, and authentically.

Prototype

As a product designer, I work closely with manufacturing teams to bring basketball concepts from sketches to the court. I focus on every detail. Rrom the ball’s shape, texture, and grip to its colorways and visual identity ensuring the final product balances performance, durability, and style.
