MaXXXine

In MaXXXine, every graphic element on set pulses with period detail, cultural commentary, and psychological texture. The film’s art direction leans heavily into the sleaze, spectacle, and synthetic sheen of 1980s Los Angeles, but with a distinctly horror tinged lens. These aren’t just graphics, they’re world-building devices that bleed into the story.

Scope of Work:

  • Collaborated with the internal creative team to develop period-appropriate signage that authentically reflected the film’s 1980s Hollywood setting.
  • Designed custom newspaper layouts and graphics aligned with the film’s visual tone and era accuracy.
  • Created logos and branded assets to support in-world businesses and environments.
  • Partnered closely with the Clearance Department to ensure all creative materials met legal and licensing requirements prior to final approval and production.
