Crank Yankers:
Season 5-6
Yankerville, a twisted town inhabited solely by puppets, is the setting for re-creations of actual crank phone calls. Comics and celebrities -- a list that includes people such as rapper Eminem and comics Sarah Silverman, Wanda Sykes and Drew Carey -- make the calls. Among the regular pranksters are show creators Jimmy Kimmel and Adam Carolla. Characters featured on the show on a regular basis include Special Ed, Elmer and Bobby Fletcher. The show originated on Comedy Central but new episodes aired for a time on MTV2.
I worked closely with the Production Designer Gary Kordan and Art Director Tricia Robertson for Crank Yankers S5-S6 and my task as an experiential designer was to:
- Manage file-ready deliverables and vendor collaboration for the fabrication and installation of custom set signage.
- Design narrative-driven environments that enhance storytelling, world-building, and character experience.
- I translate scripts, storyboards, and creative direction into spatial concepts, sets, and experiential elements.
- I collaborate with the internal team to ensure visual and emotional continuity.
- I prototype and visualize experiences through mood boards, layouts, and experiential walkthroughs with the Production Designer.
